Is This What You Really Want?

Many people believe animal violence just happened in the past three decades. That is False. Some people believe humans who lived centuries ago treated their animals with respect. People believe they idolized their precious furry and non-furry friends. People are blinded by the fact that animal violence has been documented all the way back to the 12th century when the British decided to use their small animals to lure in bigger ones, which is the start of animal abuse according to Animal Cruelty. The abuse of larger animals, such as cows and other farm animals, didn't occur until the 19th century. (Animal Cruelty) Some factors of abuse were (and still are) when farmers hyped their animals on corn fed and steroids, which is extremely unhealthy and detrimental to the animal's safety.

Can a single person start just one horrific act of violence? Can a single person lead the way to the pain and torture of innocent animals? Can just one person do it? No, but a society can. The British, as stated earlier, were the first documented abusers. They spread their evil ways across Europe until 1830s when Martin's Act was created and put into effect. Martin's Act made it illegal to abuse farm animals; if caught abusing a farm animal you would have to pay 5 pounds or do 2 months in prison, according to Animal Rights. The abuse of farm animals still came in many ways, such as cock fighting, but instead of it being in England it was in America."Cock fights were rooted deep in American history. The American's founding fathers believed cock fighting was a blood sport filled with culturally aspects. It wasn’t until June of 2007 that cockfighting was made illegal in Louisiana, the last of the 50 states to ban the activity – though the ban did not take effect until August of 2008."

What If This Was You?
help provide numerous people how to help and protect animals
in their state. The projects that the Humane Society International did in the past were Arkansas: Felony/Cruelty for cockfighting, California: Tail Docking, Kansas: Cockfighting, Maine: Confinement, Michigan: Confinement, Nevada: Animal Fighting, Nevada: Tethering, New Jersey: fur Labeling, Oregon: Exotics, Oregon: Puppy Mills (puppy mills- when a animals is trapped and stranded in a small cage, mainly made out wire, for most if not all of its life by a abusive owner), Pennsylvania: Surgical Procedures, and Washington: Puppy Mills. That was a very successful year for them.
The projects/ events that the Humane Society International are doing today to help the animals are puppy mills , which are when the humane people go and help the poor animals in abused situation –being trapped and confined in a cage all of its life; HIS (Humane Society International) AND HUSS (Humane Society of the United States) in Haiti: Action Assessment, Answers, which is when a team of highly trained people from the HIS and the HUSS go to Haiti and help the animals; and Urge Support for the Sportsmanship in Hunting Act ,which is a congregation of people getting together who try to stop hunting for fun.
The main two projects they are planning on doing in the future are Stopping Puppy Mills and Stopping Dog Fights. Puppy Mills are not good for the animal as well as people ,no person would enjoy staying in a wire cage for their whole life neither does a animal they have feelings and emotion like people. Puppy Mills are dangerous and a non-safe way of handling animals that is why the Humane Society International is here to stop it. Dog fighting goes on a lot more than people think. Dog fights are growing every day, every day there are higher numbers of hurt and injured animal, everyday an animal might die or come close to death itself, everyday they suffer in wallowing misery, every day they wonder what will happen to them, and every day the Humane Society International will put their lives in danger by protecting and rescuing them.
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a Present ” (Minic). The Humane Society International gives that present everyday to animals in need. The Humane Society International stands up for animal rights and most importantly their lives. An animal life has as much value as any other life on this beautiful Earth. The Humane Society International understands that but now it’s time for you to understand it to. This world would be nothing without the lovely, beautiful creatures placed on it, so put in a helping hand and help us SAVE them because if you were placed in their situation you would want someone to help you. Give them their PRESENT , you know they deserve it.

Quotes To Remember

Man is the only creature that consumes without producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals. ~George Orwell, Animal Farm
Ask the experimenters why they experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are like us." Ask the experimenters why it is morally okay to experiment on animals, and the answer is: "Because the animals are not like us." Animal experimentation rests on a logical contradiction. ~Charles R. MagelFrom beasts we scorn as soulless, In forest, field and den, The cry goes up to witness, The soullessness of men. ~M. Frida Hartley
The fact that man knows right from wrong proves his intellectual superiority to the other creatures; but the fact that he can do wrong proves his moral inferiority to any creatures that cannot. ~Mark Twain, What Is Man, 1906
Life is life - whether in a cat, or dog or man. There is no difference there between a cat or a man. The idea of difference is a human conception for man's own advantage. ~Sri Aurobindo

Animals have emotions like humans do. They get mad, sad. They get angry and happy. They can be molested like a child can be. People who train dogs to fight know this. They molest dogs to be killers. Molesting a cat, or molesting a dog is just as good as if you had molested a child. Dogs and cats will not forget just like a man does not forget his abuse in the past. Cats and Dogs do forgive it, and so do men.
