History of Abortion in the United States
Abortion has a long history and can be traced back to the early civilization such as the Roman Empire. Also, most major religions of the world all disagree on performing abortion but did not fight against it head on until the 19th century.{259604-L.jpg} In the

Some women in the early years opposed abortion and some defended it, just as the modern women oppose and defend it in this age. Early feminists, like Susan B. Anthony, wrote against abortion. They opposed abortion which at the time was an unsafe medical procedure for women, endangering their health and life. These feminists believed that only the achievement of women's equality and freedom would end the need for abortion. (Elizabeth Cady Stanton wrote in The Revolution, "But where shall it be found, at least begin, if not in the complete enfranchisement and elevation of woman?”) They wrote that prevention was more important than punishment, and blamed circumstances, laws and the men they believed drove women to abortions. (Matilda Joslyn Gage wrote in 1868, "I hesitate not to assert that most of this crime of child murder, abortion, infanticide, lies at the door of the male sex..."). However, Later feminists defended safe and effective birth control -- when that became available -- as another way to prevent abortion. (Most of today's abortion rights organizations also state that safe and effective birth control, adequate sex education, available health care, and the ability to support children adequately are essentials to preventing the need for many abortions.) http://womenshistory.about.com
All fifty states banned abortion, by 1965, with some exceptions which varied by state: to save the life of the mother, in cases of rape or incest, or if the fetus was deformed. Groups like the National Abortion Rights Action League and the Clergy Consultation Service on Abortion worked to liberalize anti-abortion laws. However, in the case of Roe vs wade, the Supreme Court, in 1973 declared most of the states’ abortion laws to be unconstitutional. And so While many celebrated the decision, others, especially in the Roman Catholic Church and in theologically conservative Christian groups, opposed the change. "Pro-life" and "pro-choice" evolved as the most common self-chosen names of the two movements, one to outlaw most abortion and the other to eliminate most legislative restrictions on abortions.

North America. According to CNN news on abortion, there was a disturbing occurrence involving abortion and malpractice. A doctor's license was revoked in the case of a teenager who planned to have an abortion but instead gave birth to a baby she says was killed when clinic staffers put it into a plastic bag and threw it in the trash. The doctor, Pierre Jean-Jacques Renelique, was not present when the baby was born, but however, the Florida Medical Board upheld Department of Health allegations that he falsified medical records, inappropriately delegated tasks to unlicensed personnel and committed malpractice. The baby's mother, Sycloria Williams, sued Renelique, the clinic and its staff in January, 2009 seeking damages. She alleges in her suit that "she witnessed the murder of her daughter" and said she "sustained severe emotional distress, shock and psychic trauma which have resulted in discernible bodily injury.” According to one Williams, She went to a clinic to get an abortion on the morning of July 20, 2006, after receiving medication and instructions the previous day. Renelique was not at the clinic, however, and Williams was told to wait for him. She was given two pills and told they would make her ill. When she complained of feeling ill, clinic staff members gave her a robe and told her to lie down in a patient room, the suit says. Renelique was still not present when Williams "felt a large pain" and delivered a baby girl, according to the suit. "The staff began screaming and pandemonium ensued. Sycloria watched in horror and shock as her baby writhed with her chest rising and falling as she breathed." A clinic co-owner entered the room and used a pair of shears to cut the baby's umbilical cord, the suit said. She "then scooped up the baby and placed the live baby, placenta and afterbirth in a red plastic biohazard bag, which she sealed, and then threw bag and the baby in a trash can." (February 06, 2009)
Recently in March 24, 2010, according to the “Good Morning America” news, President Obama signed an executive order banning federal funding for abortion, as he had promised to anti-abortion Democrats. This order bans the federal government, through either tax credits or other means, from using taxpayer money for abortions offered through insurance exchanges created under the new law. But even though the health care bill is signed and sealed, Republicans across the country are plotting a strategy to repeal it by challenging the law's constitutionality in court.
A human will now be allowed to exist only if he measures up to certain standards of independence, physical perfection, or utilitarian usefulness to others. This is a momentous change that strikes at the root of Western civilization. It makes no difference to vaguely assume that human life is more human post-born than pre-born. What is critical is to judge it to be — or not to be — human life. By a measure of "more" or "less" human, one can easily and logically justify infanticide and euthanasia. By the measure of economic and/or social usefulness, the ghastly atrocities of Hitlerian mass murders came to be. One cannot help but be reminded of the anguished comment of a condemned Nazi judge, who said to an American judge after the Nuremberg trials, "I never knew it would come to this." The American judge answered simply, "It came to this the first time you condemned an innocent life." http://www.abortionfacts.com

This country started out as colonies from England with the first settlement being Jamestown in 1603. This later grew into 13 colonies, and in 1776, they revolted to become a union. Just gaining their Independence, the young country was engulfed in a civil war that ruined so many revolutions. However, the north won the civil war, and with it emerged a nation.

Although China's economy is growing and its military doubling in size, it can not match the United States. The poverty and wealth distribution is completely unequal. Here in America, 99% of the wealth is controlled by a few people but the rest are still in living conditions. The government even has programs in place to help those in need. A country can not be a super power if it cannot take care of its own people. Many people die due to disease, starvation, and other tragic events. China would first have to fix its infrastructure before being able to take on the U.S.
Another point to be made is that China is alone. While the United States have been negotiating, making deals, and influencing the world, China was just watching. Just because it has a huge market, does not mean it can make allies easily. David Frum wrote,

    Interviews:
In an interview with my friends dad, who happens to be a law enforcement official, he told me that he strongly believed that China would not surpass the u.s. Why? Because the United States has military dominance all over the world and their economy is bigger even with China's rapid growth. He also said that many riots and protest are occurring in China, most of them violent. Although I didn't have much time to interview him, he said that he didnt expect any big conflicts to occur and basically, "people are overreacting."
I also interview my professor for World History. He is also against the idea that china will take the U.S place as sole hegemon. His explanation was simple, " too many people are living in unhealthy conditions." A country can not be an example if its own people are suffering. he also said that the fact that its people are suffering is a sign that there is a flaw in the system. It also influences other countries on china

    Long Term Problems
Long term problems mostly come from the mental abuse section. Mental abuse causes many teens to become depressed and suffer from many different disorders ranging from personality to eating. Say if someone is being teased about being heavy they'll either eat more or less because of depression. Disney star Demi Lovato has suffered from a eating disorder and self mutilation for years. for years because of the bullying. Other problems have started to arise as she tried to seek help for her problems; she's found out that she is also bipolar. There can be physical long term problems as well but they are not as common as the mental issues.
